Monday Night Meditation at UUCA
4444 Arlington Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia 22204
Led by Stig Regli and Jonathan Foust
Monday Evenings: 7:30 – 8:45 PM, starting Sept 6th, 2010
Please note that starting this Fall we will move to the main Hall and to Monday Nights.
Insight Meditation (also known as Vipassana) is a comprehensive approach to awakening the heart and mind. Each class consists of guided movement and sitting meditation, a short talk on Buddhist teachings and practices and a period of discussion.
Please bring a cushion and blanket or pad if you plan to sit on the floor. Chairs are also available. No experience in meditation and no registration required.
There is no set fee for this class. In the spirit of the Buddhist tradition, the teachings are offered without charge so that no one is denied access to them. The tradition is also based on generosity and encourages participants to offer donations to support the continuation of the teachings. The suggested donation of $10-20 helps support the teachers in their work and allows them to continue serving all who want to learn meditation.
Stig Regli is a long-time member of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington Teacher’s Council.
Jonathan Foust, co-founder of the Mindfulness Training Institute of Washington, has been teaching yoga and meditation for over two decades.
